Physical description, uses and nutrition
Small round peas ranging in colour from light to dark brown. Also known as “toor dal” in India, Pigeon Peas are an important source of protein, particularly after being sprouted.
Nutrition value: Low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium, and a good source of Protein, Vitamin A, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Thiamin and Manganese.
Germination: 3-6 days depending on growing conditions.
